A Week in Provence will take riders through towns and villages steeped in history. From the scented lavender fields and ancient olive groves of Sault to the surrounding picturesque stone villages, the rides will be a visual and riding treat. The area is a popular riding spot exactly because of the rolling hills and spectacular scenery.

A Week in Provence will take you through major towns such as Montpellier, Nimes, Orange, Montelimar, Nyon and Sault. In between of course are dozens of other towns with their own attractions of architecture, history and agriculture. Vineyards and lavender stand out.

We will ride through famous Roman towns such as Orange with its magnificent antique theatre and Triumphal Arch.

The area is also famous for its wine and we will be in the heart of the Cote de Rhone and the world renowned Chateauneuf du Pape vineyards.

The riding challenge of course is the Geant de Provence, the Mont Ventoux and this will be the high point of our Week in Provence. The ride to the Ventoux starts and often ends in Bedoin. From here it is 21 kilometers to the summit. The first 6 ks out of Bedoin are fairly flat, rolling through vineyards and forrest. But then the real climb starts with the next 8ks at around 10%-12%.

The final section eases back a little but any pain is taken away by the shear grandeur of the mountain. Rob is pictured above back in Bedoin celebrating after completing the ride to the summit.
